We provide your team with the training that puts your organization on the path to growing, sustained fundraising success. We align the thinking of your staff, fundraisers and board members through one or more of our experiential sessions. Created for adults with high levels of participation, activity and accountability.

We show your entire team how to think in new ways then act accordingly. Your team learns that lasting fundraising success is 90% thinking and 10% doing. You'll discover new revenue streams and increase the ones you have. Your fundraising costs—how much you’re spending to raise a dollar—drop dramatically. We show everyone how to make fundraising a true joy. Our training brings real organizational stability. Success becomes permanent.

The Aha Moment

Sustained and scaled success in fundraising is dependent upon viewing it through the right lens. The right paradigm.  This seminar gives you an understanding of relational philanthropy and its radical departure from transactional fundraising.  The paradigm shift shared in this session is the foundation for successful relational philanthropy.

We call it the “Aha Moment” because understanding often comes in a flash!  As a board chair who participated said, “Now I get this.  Now I understand this.”

Multi-media. Large and small group exercises. Individual thought exercises.  Action plan.  Custom personal journal.

Approximately 200 active minutes, excluding breaks and pauses.  Fund development professionals, nonprofit executives,  governing board members, all staff and volunteers

The Eight Principles of Sustainable Fundraising®

Undertaking any fundraising endeavor begins with a thorough understanding of the natural laws of philanthropy.  Universal and timeless, The Eight Principles govern all philanthropy and its mirror image, fundraising.

This seminar introduces participants to The Eight Principles while challenging many conventional assumptions.  When completed, participants leave with a comprehensive understanding of strategic relational fund development.  Having created an action and accountability plan they’re prepared to successfully execute on what they’ve learned.

In the words of one participant, “I’ve been fundraising for years.  I thought I was doing pretty well.  Nothing compares with the insight I gained from this training.”

Multi-media. Large and small group exercises. Individual thought exercises. Individual and group independent teaching.  Solicitation practice. Action plan. Custom personal journal.

Approximately 400 active minutes, excluding breaks and pauses.  Fund development professionals, nonprofit executives, governing board members, all staff and  volunteers

Creating the Pathway

The essence of The Eight Principles is “think differently.” Systems such as moves management protocols and conventional CRM’s are internal tracking tools designed to bring accountability to the cultivation and close in fundraising.

What’s missing, is the ability to assess, understand and predict donor behavior. Especially, as it relates to the donor’s emotional attachment to your organization or cause.  This session shows you how to create a fundraising program that keeps more of your donors while growing their emotional attachment to your organization.  You learn how to fulfill donor dreams even as you fulfill your own.

Developing your donors’ emotional attachment to your organization, over time, fundamentally changes their giving behavior.  By doing so, your fundraising revenue can grow 400% and beyond.

Creating the pathway takes you step by step in creating a visual schematic supported by actual programing which follows and predicts your donors’ behavior.

“As an experienced major gifts officer, I was blown away when I understood what the point of all the cultivation really is,” said one participant.

Capital Fundraising With The Eight Principles

Often considered the summit of fundraising, the capital campaign is the most employed and yet often least understood. Basic campaign structure and philosophy have remained virtually unchanged for a century. Why?  Because it works.

And yet, the lasting power of a campaign to drive a successful fundraising program is more subtle, complex—and very often overlooked.  Conducted within the framework of The Eight Principles, campaigns will drive increased donations–above and beyond pledge payments–for up to 15 years after the campaign is completed.  Campaigns executed this way literally create a new normal.

This seminar reviews the basics of campaigns, local, regional and national. From there, it explores the finer points that distinguish between mere success and lasting success.

One executive director commented, “When I realized how my campaign today could impact giving in 10 years, I became a lot more confident about the direction of our organization.”

Building the Strategic Board

Coming Late Fall 2021

A nonprofit board that looks, acts and behaves as a strategic unit rather than a collection of individuals is an unbeatable leadership and fundraising powerhouse.

This session sets the standard for your board.  As new board members are introduced, this experience brings them into the culture quickly and easily.  Existing board members can hone their skills.  During the session, Board members self reflect on their board membership and the organization they lead.  They learn where they must travel even as they plot their path forward.

Approximately 200 active minutes.  Current board members, prospective board members, nonprofit executives

Delivery:  Certified Independent Facilitator or Train-the-Trainer Facilitator
